As an eLearning developer, I create immersive learning experiences utilizing Articulate Storyline and Adobe Captivate that help individuals develop the skills and understandings needed to excel in their positions. I work closely with clients to ensure that the eLearning solutions created improve performance. I can take your project from storyboard to finished product, recreate old training modules in updated software, or start and the beginning and work with you to conceptualize a solution.

I’ve been a learning and development professional for over 10 years (Check out my profile on LinkedIn for details), and a multimedia developer for over 15. I have experience with the following:

  •  ADDIE and SAM Instructional Design methodology and Kirkpatrick Evaluations (Level 1-4)

  • SCORM, xAPI & AICC output to LMS (Moodle, Adobe Prime, Lectora, Blackboard, Sakai)

I have an MBA in Marketing & Health Care Policy Analysis and I am currently working towards my PhD in Management. I’m also a skilled business analyst and project manager.

My Teaching Philosophy

When it comes to developing eLearning, I believe that it has to be engaging. Engagement doesn’t mean fancy bells and whistles or flashing graphics. Engagement simply means encouraging the learner to want to be there. The best way of explaining this is a metaphor I read in an instructional design book many years ago: If you give someone a large book and you tell them to read it, their motivation will be approximately nil. However, if you put them in a room with the book with no doors or windows, make the walls start shrinking in and then tell them the answer to getting out of the room is included in the book… well then you have motivation and an engaging reason to read the book.
